SAMARIA BOLDEN | MRS. BLACK GLOBAL 2024

"As a small-town girl with big-city dreams, I started dancing at the age of 6 at the Dothan School of Dance in Alabama. Under the guidance of Tracy Solomon and Ashlie Solomon-Wells, I proudly held the regional titles of Dance Masters Petite and Teen Miss Dance of Chapter 33. My journey through dance has encompassed various styles, from classical ballet to hip hop, and I've graced stages across the country with performances including Southeast Alabama Dance Company, Atlanta Falcons Halftime, and the Southeast Regional Ballet Association, among others.

Following my success on the competition circuit, I followed my heart to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of becoming a professional dancer. Since then, I've had the privilege of working with esteemed choreographers such as Brian Friedman, Parris Goebel, Jaquel Knight, and Chris Grant. I've shared stages with artists like E-40 and Mila J, and made appearances on popular TV shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Nigel Lythgoe's Every Single Step.

My journey has taken me to incredible places, including dancing in Justin Bieber's music video for Purpose and performing with N.E.R.D. at ComplexCon. I've even been part of groundbreaking moments like the world's first live movie commercial for The Greatest Showman on FOX and Beyoncé's iconic performance at the 2018 Coachella Music Festival. More recently, I've had the opportunity to work with Parris Goebel as a skeleton dancer for Rihanna's Savage x Fenty New York Fashion Week show and dance alongside the Jonas Brothers on The Late Late Show.

In addition to my dance career, I pursued my education in Business Management and Marketing at THE Alabama State University's Percy J. Vaughn College of Business Administration, preparing me for my current role managing and operating a thriving fitness studio in Hollywood, CA.

As the 2024 Mrs. Black Global, I'm dedicated to using my platform to advocate for Delivering Art Now in Children’s Education (D.A.N.C.E.), an outreach program aimed at enriching the lives of 4th-grade students through the power of dance."
